The AKNEYE Story
AKNEYE is a project of eye sculptures that encourages creativity with the digital, building a bridge between artists and the virtual world. The sculptures themselves carry glass bottles in place of tear ducts, containing various types of liquid.
Aside from the function, the AKNEYE sculptures provide a rather unique opportunity for artists to step in and express themselves.
Plain sculptures are provided to artists who wish to decorate it with their thoughts and emotions through their imagination. Every piece is personal to the artist that creates it, and when finished, it can be turned into a digital art.
The Blue Eye and the Fetus
The eye, with its profound symbolism of perception and insight, becomes a canvas for the intricate art of Arabic calligraphy. The flowing script reflects the interconnectedness of human creativity.
Within the eye's pupil, a delicate depiction of a fetus symbolizes the inception of life and the endless cycle of birth. This evokes contemplation about the fragile beauty of beginnings and the ever-revolving wheel of existence.
The Power of the Yin and the Yang
Within the eye's pupil, the symbolism of duality takes center stage. The yin and yang symbol represents the perpetual dance of opposing yet interconnected forces in the cosmos. This dualistic motif speaks to the innate balance of existence, where harmony emerges from the interplay of opposites, from good and evil to peace and war, and from love and hate to the interplay of light and darkness.
The Arabic calligraphy carries the profound philosophy of Al-Farabi's wisdom which emphasizes the intellect as the guiding force for individuals and societies. The philosopher believes that human beings possess the potential for intellectual development and that the pursuit of knowledge and wisdom is central to human existence.
